If a business you called uses ZoiVox, the voice that answered was ours. This page explains what happens to what you said. It is written for you, not for lawyers.
ZoiVox is a Canadian company in Kitchener, Ontario. We make the assistant that answers the phone for the business you called. We work for them, not the other way round. Your information is theirs; we only handle it to do the job they have asked us to do.
That means if you want your information corrected or deleted, ask the business directly — they decide, and we do as they ask.
Only what the call itself produces:
We do not ask for health card numbers, payment card numbers or passwords, and the assistant is not built to take them. If you are asked for something like that on a call, the business asked for it, not us.
No. We do not record calls. No audio is kept, by us or by the business you called.
What the assistant hears is turned into text so it can answer you, and what is kept afterwards is the written record — a transcript and a short summary. The audio itself is gone the moment the call ends.
Your information is stored in Canada.
Answering the call itself is done by specialist companies, and the ones that can do this in real time are in the United States. So the words you say pass through the United States on their way to being stored here. We are not going to pretend otherwise, and the business you called can tell you exactly which companies are involved.
We never sell your information, never rent it, and never use it for advertising.
No. What you said is not used to train or improve any AI model, ours or anyone else’s. The assistant reads your words to answer you during the call, and that is all.
The business chooses, up to a maximum of two years. After that, the call record, the summary and the appointment are deleted automatically — permanently, not archived.
Hang up and call 911. The assistant is there to book appointments and take messages. It cannot assess how urgent something is, it is not a nurse line, and it will not give you medical advice.
If you describe something urgent it will put you through to a person or tell you how to reach one — but it is not a substitute for emergency care, and waiting on a call to a clinic is not the right thing to do when something is seriously wrong.
Say so. Ask for a person, or to be put through, and the assistant will transfer you or take a message. You are never required to deal with it.
Questions about your own information — ask the business you called. They hold it and they decide.
