In short: we provide an AI phone receptionist on a monthly subscription. You can cancel at any time and keep the service until the end of the period you have paid for. You are responsible for what your assistant is configured to say and for telling your callers that calls are handled by an AI system.
These terms govern your use of ZoiVox. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
ZoiVox answers telephone calls on your behalf using an AI assistant that can take bookings, answer questions about your business, send confirmations and transfer calls to you. Features vary by plan.
New accounts may receive a trial of a stated length with a stated allowance of included minutes. No payment card is required to begin a trial.
When the trial ends, or its minutes are used up, the assistant stops answering. Your telephone number is held for a grace period — normally 7 days — so you can subscribe and keep it. After that the number is permanently released and cannot be recovered. Your call history and booking records are kept.
You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your service continues to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-used months, except where Canadian consumer protection law requires it.
We may suspend or close an account for non-payment, for breach of these terms, or for use that threatens the service or others. Except in serious cases, we will give notice and a reasonable chance to put things right.
You must tell your callers that calls are answered by an automated system, and meet any notice or consent requirement that applies to you. We do not record calls, so there is no call audio for you to disclose or retain — but the transcript and the summary are a record of what was said, and handling those is your responsibility.
You control the assistant's instructions and knowledge base. You are responsible for their accuracy and legality, and for any commitment the assistant makes to a caller on your behalf. Do not use ZoiVox to give medical, legal or financial advice unless you are qualified and licensed to do so.
You must not use ZoiVox for unlawful, deceptive, harassing or fraudulent purposes; to impersonate another person or organisation; to make unsolicited bulk calls in breach of telemarketing rules; or to attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. ZoiVox depends on third-party telephony, speech and AI providers, and on your own telephone number remaining in service. We may carry out maintenance, giving advance notice where we reasonably can.
AI systems make mistakes. An assistant may mishear a caller, misunderstand a request, or give an answer that is wrong. We do not warrant that its output is accurate or suitable for any particular purpose. Review your bookings and transcripts, and do not rely on the assistant for anything where an error would cause serious harm.
You keep ownership of your business information, call transcripts and booking records. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service for you. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
On closure you may export your data. We keep it for 90 days afterwards, then delete it, apart from records we must retain by law.
The ZoiVox software, name and branding are ours. These terms give you a right to use the service, not to copy, resell or reverse engineer it.
To the fullest extent Canadian law permits:
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.
You will indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms or of applicable law, including claims by your callers about notice or disclosure.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer right to bring proceedings where you live.
